For sale - a circa 1940's-1950's United Sportswear horsehide leather half-belt jacket - labeled a size 46 (I believe). Original United Sportswear label, original horsehide label, and original cheesecloth size tag is all there. Retains original quilted orange satin liner in practically mint condition minus some minor soiling with original plaid sleeve lining. All pocket linings appear to be in solid condition too.
Original main slider is missing the Talon pull, however the zipper teeth on both sides are perfect... just needs a new vintage Talon pull - jacket can still be zipped with the slider mechanism. Original unmarked chest zipper works perfect. The cuffs retain their original button snaps and both work as intended. The brass buckles on the rear adjustment straps are original as well.
Horsehide leather clearly has an absolute one-of-a-kind patina with light scuffs and marks, however no cuts or rips that I can find. Leather feels supply and in good condition - the leather reminds of a well loved old catchers mitt... just an amazing jacket.
