Here is a pretty rare find. This boater has several features which dates it to the early 1900's/19-teens. Its far from museum quality, but finding these very old panamas in perfect shape is next to impossible. Its labeled as a size 7 1/8, but fits like a comfortable size 7. The straw is in great shape, its just VERY dirty and could use a professional cleaning. The sweatband has interesting copper print markings and an extra exposed natural reed behind the front sweatband reeding to give more sweat protection for the sweatband. This extra reed was a feature of very early straws. Its a very interesting piece which would be cool in any collection.
