I know that there are many of you here that eat, sleep & breathe the vintage lifestyle...I am just curious to know if there is a modern item or activity that you cannot live without? Computers and cell phones are exempt!

my mazda 3. it's fast, comfortable, & easy to drive. i've got a 66 mustang in my garage too, which looks a little better with my 50s fashions, but I pick that Mazda almost every day.

And..um...sneakers. Can't play softball with vintage shoes. I have lots of NB sneakers.

By the way, I like that microwave idea. Why don't you design a retro-inspired one and sell it to me?

TV & VCR & DVD player - how else can I watch whatever old classic movie I want, whenever I want...and pause it if I have to answer the door or take a phonecall? And now, back to Asphalt Jungle...

Do you have TiVo yet Mike? My friend has one with a DVD burner...I haven't succumbed to the temptation, but I can see the usefulness.

I could do it,...theoretically, as I am a handy sort of guy. ;)
But after I procured all the parts, both vintage and new, it might be cost-prohibitive to actually produce one. :(
It would, I think, be something that would best be sold in an art gallery. [huh]

I've become such a TiVo junkie it's frightening. I tried watching "regular" TV last weekend and thought I'd go loopy after the first commercial.
TiVo and the National Football League is a marriage made in Heaven.

Bride of Ed gets a touch cranky if I call her vintage so I'll put her on my list too.

Funny! I just thought about a thread like that, and now, you've been first ;)

Modern Dentists or let's say, modern medicine! (I don't like them, but very important though)
CD's (phonographs look cool, but I wouldn't want to really have to use them.....)
civil rights (don't really know how to put it better in english  )

Electricity is a biggie, and I'm quite fond of toilet paper. After that it's my car, modern day mascara, and while I could do without it a toothbrush is pretty groovy. :D
