Flattering Vintage Fit-

BellyTank

I'll Lock Up
I was in Stockholm over the weekend and went to a daytime function with my Wife.
I was wearing my vintage SB linen suit, a white vintage shirt, no tie-
as I knew that I was already overdressed for the occasion.
Many people who I hadn't seen for months or years, commented on my weight- that I had lost weight. I haven't actually lost any weight and have in fact, put a good few pounds on.

The compliments and the illusion of slimness are entirely due to the suit and how I was wearing it. The high waisted trousers lengthen the legs and cover the belly area- the use of braces also helps, due to there being no 'belly-belt' scenario, or the trousers being pushed down by said belly (very comfortble too with braces). The waistline 'hovers' at a good waist height(due to braces).
The jacket was worn open, only glancing my love-handles ever so kindly.
The slimmer fit and higher-cut armholes also help to give a more- ahem... athletic trim.

I was pleased.

Nobody commented on the suit, which is OK.

That suit was very comfortable on a warm Swedish afternoon.
I may have to get another vintage summer suit.

:)

Hmmm... white linen, eh? Maybe Indy can make me a Signor Ferrari (Sidney Greenstreet in Casablanca) suit next. ;)

He wore his with a cummerbund, though, which I don't think I could quite pull off. Nor the fez, for that matter, but he also wore a Panama with that suit.

You didn't mention the color of your suit at first, but it made me think of Ferrari's which (as far as I could tell in a B&W movie) was white. I'll look into the natural color linen, though. I'm a coffee drinker, and have the occasional "drinking problem" (a la Robert Hayes in Airplane) which makes pure white problematic. lol
