I thought I saw it posted here but it was on their Facebook page and it says natural milled, maybe somebody else knows more about the size.

A quick search reveals this:

Milled Leather

Milled Leather is the Surface Structure of the Hide.

The leather is during the production put into the milling machine where it is rotated, comparable to a large clothes dryer just with the absence of air and heat. Through the soft falling action the natural fine lines in the leather are intensified. The industry then speaks from "dinstinctive Milled Leather".

I don’t think @broll22 spec’ed this himself, he mentioned buying on eBay. This looks like someone spectacularly failed with a custom Fivestar order and sold it on. Broll, I think you can do a LOT better with Fivestar. If there is a return option, I would go in that direction if I were you. Even Fivestar stock patterns, which I am not a fan of, looks like 100 times better.

does any of you have samples of buffalo and steer?
steer is stiffer and thicker (1.4 mm), buffalo is softer and 1.3 mm.
what to take for a Cafe Racer?

I went for the 1.4 steerhide because it was stiffer, I asked Shawn and he said it's even a bit stiffer than the goat. No samples though but I can post some quality closeup pictures and tell you how it feels next week after I get it.

Many Thanks. That would be nice.
If Buffalo had the stiffnes of the seal goat, that would be enough for me. When it comes to grain, I like the buffalo a little better than Steer.
Let's see.

My pleasure. Buffalo looks fantastic but I wanted a stiffer leather too, that's why I went for goat or steer, eventually ended up with the latter.

Unfortunately no returns on eBay for this. Which, to be fair, is the risk I knew and took upfront (although there were no pics of the sleeves on the listing, which now makes sense :D). Must say, after seeing everyone's good experiences with Fivestar I was a little disappointed when I saw this one - but the disappointment is more situational. I still think Fivestar can and does produce really nice jackets, I just happen to be the second person to have this dud.

Sometimes a deal isn't quite a deal, eh? I'll chalk this one up to experience. Maybe I'll go as Wreck-It-Ralph for Halloween.

If you like the jacket and it's all about the sleeves, you can send the jacket to Shawn so he can tighten the sleeves. The question is, of course, whether it is financially worthwhile.

I encountered a few sellers trying to hide certain things or they avoid answering if asked, I just leave the conversation. There's a reason they do that :)

Fivestar made a Grizzly! Shawn just shared this on Facebook. I think it looks pretty cool!

Hi everybody. I made a 5 * Jacket last year. But to me, it was a bad experience.
I take the measurements of the Alpha CWU45p and send it to Shawn (have to reduce a few measurements to be more suitable. Because the Cwu45p jacket is a bit wide)
When receiving the jacket. The leather jacket was tight at the shoulders and chest. Hand movement is limited. I can't lift my hand too high. I was planning to have Shawn made my second second jacket. But the following problems make me worry.
----------------
This is the measurements of Alpha Industries Cwu45p Size Xs.
Measure-1.jpg

And here is the measurement of the custom jacket (goatskin seal brown 1.2mm)
432e0cfebee62bf38.jpg

I want the waistband is 41cm. He said, the goatskin couldn't be stretched. So he made the waistband is 43cm. After half a year of wearing, when measured again is 47cm. Maybe due to elasticity.
--------------
And these are the problems I have with custom jacket.
1. I can't put my hands up and down comfortably. When I held my hand up, the bottom of custom jacket pulled up. With CWU45p jacket I move freely.

After thinking. I found custom jacket to have small range of motion. CWU45p jacket is the opposite.

I do not know how to handle it? Either make an underarm gusset or a sleeve section with a large range of motion.
--------
2. When I move or fold my arms. The jacket is very very tight. I felt very uncomfortable. The back of the jacket was stretched. But the waistband is blunted much. With the Cwu45p, this is not the case.

The solution I come up with is increase the measurement of arm pit to pit or do a full action back like G1's Jacket and reduce the size of waist in custom jacket.
------------------------------------
3. The knit waistband not close to the body. To me it looks very bad.

This is probably due to the poor quality of 5* Knit or big waist measurements. I can't think of a solution yet.
-----------------
Hope everyone will explain the problems I am having. After that, I can have a second jacket that's just perfect to me.

This problem can certainly be addressed by ordering the round shoulders, as they are made with the A2 jackets. And maybe the armholes are a bit too big and the sleeves a bit too tight compared to your original jacket.

Edit: I have a very similar jacket, but it has underarm gussets. and then the jacket does not rise.

@torfjord Thanks for sharing the information. I was just WhatsApping with Marc about a Grizzly which is second hand or of course if value for money (like 5Star) is good....good to know that there is a "low cost" option to try a Grizzly out!

Yeah, I haven't seen them turn up on the used market very often. Fivestar could definitely be a budget option to try the style if you're not ready to spend big bucks on it.

Haha, let's not go there just yet!
