first warm day of the year...yikes

Wow, it went from a high temp of 65F Thursday to 94F today and I'm dying. Are there any hints that will help me adjust to the heat? It seems that the older I get the worse the adjustment period becomes every spring.

First of all, don't wear an A2 jacket. I made that mistake in Florida. I'm also not a fan of hot weather. Above 73 degrees and I break out in a sweat.

Have a little something to eat and wash it down with some cold, minty iced tea. It really does help.

It was hot over here too! A good day for khaki trousers, guayabera shirt, boater hat and spectator shoes! I went for a walk through downtown and started to overheat. Never stray more than a short walk from an establishment that serves cool beverages.

From what I gather, the Farmer's Almanac predicted a hot, hot summer this year. As I abhor heat and humidity and have both here in eastern Nebraska, I better budget for a higher-than-normal AC bill! :eusa_doh:

Ahhh, springtime in Nebraska! Friday my furnace was still running and I was still wearing long sleeved winter clothing. Saturday it got up to 89 and we turned the A/C on. [huh]

I know! Isn't it crazy? Last week western Nebraska had snow, this week they have tornadoes!

Geesie, have a safe trip to STL. My car has no A/C, but the windows roll down and the sunroof opens, so as longas I'm rolling I'm OK. I made a pitcher of Arnold Palmers, using lemonade and decaffeinated tea...good stuff.

My issue is that I work in a funeral home and wear a dark suit all year round, and NEVER take off my jacket except at my desk in the basement. On top of that, the FH is old and the A/C is flaky...melting one day, like a meat locker the next.

This heat is oppressive though, I feel wrung out by the time I get home. The dog wants to play and I just want to lay there...
