Welcome aboard Stock Man, be prepared for some white water sailing. Good choice with your HWM and stellar fit. Aero HMW was my first quality leather jacket and I wore an HWM for twenty years just recently became HWMless. My first HWM did not fit me nearly as well as yours but I did not have TFL to study.

Thank you all for the kind words and welcome.
I think the wallet and CC will be safe for a bit - I am a bit of a fashion numpty and tend to dag out in the same clothes and style for way too long.
Just a waiting game now, way too hot for wearing Jackets here in Aus, but this hasn't stopped me from pulling it out of the cupboard and prancing around the bedroom mirror like a real nutter. Bring on the chill!!!

I’m confused. I really like the look of a HWM, see a fit pic like yours which is spot on and confirms my impression of this model being damn near a perfect jacket but then I read it’s a blocky cut. If it’s blocky why does it look so damn good in an example like Stock Man’s?

I noticed the classic HWM works great for certain body types (bear of a man) w/ broad shoulder/chest/hip. For some who are more V cut or of slim or anywhere in between build it will look boxy and the premier HWM might be a better pattern (but that doesn't guarantee a great fit as well, as sometimes it looks tubular in some cases). It's a great classic design but it doesn't look great on everyone.

Thanks for this. I’m V shaped so maybe it wouldn’t work for me but man, this is a good looking classic jacket on Stock Man.
TB have a premier in badalassi right now that is damn tempting.

I hear you the classic HWM looks so good, I've read that a lot have tried but not all have succeeded as there's always a fit issue. I also have a premier HWM in cordovan cxl but I got the classic HWM back yoke (not a fan of the stock back yoke)

Badalassi is great, its squeaky but it's worth it. The smell alone is enough to make me want another one made out of that hide.

The Sheene is based on Aero’s cafe racer pattern and is cut more V shape. You can get it in a Highwayman style.

Thought I would post a little update on how the Highwayman in Blackened Brown Vicenca has fared after its first season of solid wear. Have worn this jacket pretty hard since it arrived end of Feb 21 direct from Aero in Scotland, probably close to 5 days a week for 10 – 12 hours a day. My usual work day consist of a couple of hours driving, sitting on my ass in an office and supervising in a warehouse environment, no crocodile wrestling or anything too strenuous for this old boy.

My initial thought on receiving this jacket were extremely positive, and I can confirm that after its first season of wear, my appreciation has only grown, it is so well made, substantial yet comfortable, and gets better every day.

Pro’s

· Love the colour – My description of Blackened Brown Vicenza would be that it is as dark a brown as you could get, before becoming black. In bright light, the Brown comes through stronger, in cloudy grey days, it appears more Black.

· The Black top coat is starting to wear through in areas that get the most wear, underneath the elbows and around the seams, but not too quickly. To my eyes, this enhances the appearance and gives the jacket a more worn in look.

· The grain in the leather is becoming more pronounced, especially the sleaves, they are really starting to pop.

· Although the weight and thickness of the leather to me seems substantial, it is extremely comfortable and does not restrict movement. The break in period was negligible and has only gotten better with wear.

· Compliments – many people have commented on the quality, fit and finish.

Cons

· I can’t keep wearing only one jacket, day in, day out, it wouldn’t bother me, but others might start to think that I am a one trick pony. Problem sorted – Next seasons Jacket is on the way, can only hope that it will bring me as much joy as this one.

Here’s some pics of what 1 season of wear has on an Aero Highwayman in Blackened Brown Vicenza.

Thank you for sharing the update and wow, what a great looking jacket. I love those browns peaking through and the subtle sleeve rolls. What's on the way for next season? A D pocket would look great on you :)

that wear on the elbow is gorgeous, you should cross and uncross your arm 10x a day to promote similar fade on the front of the sleeve and the front of the jacket's body.
