My first cross zip… critique this fit

Got this used Double Helix works double rider cross zip. I love the way it feels and looks on me unzipped. The shoulder width and sleeve length feel spot on. I don’t feel any restrictions to my range of motion. But the hem is noticeably narrower than my other jackets in the same size and it’s definitely tight zipped up and has that sausage casing look.

I wear my jackets unzipped pretty much 100% of the time, but are these still too small?

It looks tight zipped up, but It might loosen a little with wear and breaking the leather in. If your weight doesn't fluctuate too much, maybe you can keep it and see how it breaks in.

I own this stiff Johnson Leather Horween HH and the hem was a little too restrictive. Once I started wearing it, it has loosened and conformed.

The jacket looks good on you. But you are limited to only t-shirt. Personally, I like to rock my shirts with t-shirts. Lately, I have been using vintage wool plaid long sleeves. Not a "bato loco" look but nice and trim. For your first x zip jacket, you have done very well. Rock that thing and if it does not fit your lifestyle, get another one. Life is short. Rock that thing!

As some know, I like tight jackets and it looks good on you. And as Biff writes, it will still adjust a little. And if you wear 100% open, then I would stick with the jacket myself.

Sausage casing? Man, zipped up, this jacket is giving you a bona fide hourglass figure, making your shoulders and hips look the same width! It generally looks too small and does absolutely nothing for you by neither accentuating nor flattering one single part of your torso.
Why is this jacket so featureless? I feel that you could, quite literally, achieve the exact same look with a thin, stretchy shirt with a motorcycle jacket print on it.

If you wear it unzipped, no problem. Zipped - too tight, looks uncomfortable. Your call obviously, but I'd be tempted to see how one size up would look.

Exactly this. Send it back and get a Vanson cross zip instead. Great pattern that will actually fit in a way that will accentuate the masculine features of your torso. Instead of whatever this gender-neutral they/them jacket is doing.

What's odd is that Double Helix makes a really cool jacket, otherwise. I tried them on in a couple of places and was really impressed. I guess it's just not meant for the OP.

While I generally agree with the above, and can confirm that V-shaped jackets (like Cals) can help make even my decidedly non-athletic upper body look better, the hourglass shape can be function-driven.

Case in point - HD Sportster CR, which is definitely hourglass (and therefore not everyone's cup of tea). The shape has to do with giving you some room in the hips when you sit on a bike.

Yes, it’s too small. But the jacket itself is really cool und suits you well. One size up and you have an absolute stunner!

I might have gone a bit too hard. The same point could have been made with less harsh language. I apologize if anyone took offence. Just a bit tired of seeing badly fitting Japanese jackets with junk patterns when there are western makers that make superior jackets for 1/3 of the the price.

Aye but HD Sportster has a aesthetically well designed, structured & accentuated upper part; Shoulders, chest, etc. While the shoulders on this Double Helix seem to completely understate OP's upper body part shape.

Correct, HD Sportster is cut with broad shoulders. I should know, I owned four of them (now one), and my puny shoulders swam in every one of them even if the rest of the fit was perfect, lol.

It’s trim fitting the way you have it. T shirt only. Can be limiting if it’s your only jacket and sometimes you may need to wear another layer depending where you are and how cold it gets. But you can always a second jacket for the layered fit, assuming you’re already on the hunt for a second one since you found this place... Looks cool for T shirt fit, especially when worn open

Even wearing it unzipped, the shoulder is too small for you. That is, the shoulder line is too high. If you’re fine moving around in the jacket and willing to wear it unzipped all the time, you can keep it. But you’d prob regret it in 6 months.
