Please post all your Trojan jacket photos here, original, repro, inspired by...etc.

Model No 401

From LW Website:

Would this be considered the 402 Champion? as it has the zip out liner like the 402 but Champion D pocket.

Straight Zips, what was the model no or name?

Awesome jacket. Loved it the moment I saw it

I think it's an earlier customized mens 401 though, more late 30s than early 40s. Because the 401L could have had the lapels in the mirrored position, like this allegedly Trojan women's jacket from Marvins. Crappy photo I enlarged it and enhanced.
401L.jpg

Also I believe the 401L would of had a curved in middle waist shape like the ad vs the mens where it's a straight V shape, like your jacket. Although the mens 401 ad picture is quite misleading with its Champion sized chest pocket.

What an awesome jacket you've got there. Trojans don't come by often, as rare as the Peter's, with lots of nice details that were ahead of its time and still is.

And they were quite expensive even then. Compared to the Catalogue jacket prices. And anything over 42 cost more.
And the decorative quilted liners they use. Must have been very custom jobs. Just don't see that feature on any other jackets.

The zipper on mine is stamped "E 0". It could have been produced after 1940 and they just used an older zipper, but it can't be older than 1940.

The Marvin's jacket is interesting. Zipper is on the "female" side. Collar looks way different than the 401L. Perhaps it's a different model.

The ad from Trojan clearly shows a 401L with the zipper on the "male" side. You're right though, it does show a curve in the body.

The jackets in the Tanaka book (one with zippered sleeves and one with button cuffs) do not show a curve. Mine also doesn't have a curve in the body, just a "V" shape. I can wear mine so I can verify it does not have a curve in the body.

Here are a couple more of these jackets. I saw both of these in person. The first one is a large size and does not seem like a women's jackets to me.

Zippered sleeves, belt loops and button snaps on the collar which is interesting.

This second one is a 401 LC for capeskin. It's probably a size medium, too big for me. Button cuffs, no belt loops and no button snaps on the collar, like mine.

Just in case anyone has ever wondered how an original Trojan Champion fits. These pics are from an old for sale ad from Japan. (@Canuck Panda you posted one of these images in your first post)

Have you guys seen a straight zip version of the Trojan 401? So it will have the same Trojan back design but more of a straight zip CHP type front like the Star Gloves, like this but 401 pockets:

Holy crap this seller has a lot of very cool stuff. Thanks.

Do you think this is also a Trojan jacket? The back looks like it but it has extra pleats and the center vent opens up too. Wow. Would love to get one of these made. The triple pleats are quite awesome for mobility.

I don’t think it is, the cuffs and back designs are all wrong for a Trojan.

I have always been a big fan of Trojan Jackets. But an original in my size, in good condition and affordable price is an impossibility. That's why I decided to go the repro route. Since the OP doesn't just refer to originals in this thread, I'll take the liberty of sharing two of my repros:

Protech

FiveStar Leather
(I can say the guys from 5* implemented my specifications perfectly, great fit and nice waxed seal Steerhide with mixed hardware as spec)
