I just put three ties up on Ebay (one Brioni, two Talbott and PM me if you want a link), and went shopping tonight for ties. I used to shop at Jos. A Bank a lot but since I found Robert Talbott ties, I find that going back to Bank, or even Macy's, the ties just do not seem to move me. I dont like paying twice as much for this tie than I could get at the other places, but I just can not seem to find myself liking anything other than Talbott, some Zegnas, and upper end stuff. How did I end up like that?

If you find a brand that you really like, its worth sticking with that sometimes. For myself, I really like the styles and fit of Ralph Lauren ladies clothes, even though I am as extreme of a different body shape as their models put forth as can be!

I find that if I like the fit comfort and performance of certain brands of clothes then I will stick with them. Often however after a long period of good stuff a brand gets an overhaul and moves down from great to OK to lousy quality, which seems to happen to those things i liked in the past such as underwear.

When it comes to outdoors clothing I tend to go with Cabela's. For dress shirts I usually go first with the 3 Day Suit Broker's offerings but will look at shirts stocked at Macy's, Penny's and Sears. I used to get Sear's Roebucks brand jeans but they disappeared.

What I find is that often I simply cannot justify the expense of the supposed top quality clothing lines and have to search out good values, good materials and good craftsmanship as a balance for my budget.

Nothing can replecate the best!!

After wearing Robert Talbott neckwear everything else is downhill. With out a doubt the finest crafted neckwear in the menswear industry. Elegant, exceptionally tasteful, different & most importantly timeless. See any Talbott neckwear in thrift shops???

I have been a collector of timeless apparel since the late 60"s, about the time bothe Ralf Lauren & Robert Talbott launched their respective neckwear collections. Only one now stands for quality.I have Talbott neckwear from the early 80's (when they were only $85!!) that I wear regularly & always draw comments.

Less is more when you buy the better quality apparel. A few fine pieces a year add up to an incrediable wardrobe later.
