This used to be a thread about field leathers jackets... Sigh
I need to start changing my whole wardrobe...
LOL. Yeah. Threads meander. But in my experience those bends in the river bear more fruit than posting the same content ad nausea bound by a thread title. This used to be a thread about field leathers jackets... Sigh
Yikes! I would hope people don't think that's necessary. I love engineers, but that came before my love for leather jackets. If you look at photos from the 1930s and 40s, nobody wears engineers with leather jackets. Not at all. Don’t fall into the trap that tells you a leather jacket demands that.
I was talking to someone who said that he really wanted a leather jacket but thought it wasn’t appropriate to wear one without engineer boots. After our conversation he’s been very happily wearing a leather jacket for two years now (without engineer boots).
This is not a costume contest, so anything goes.I need to start changing my whole wardrobe...

You like long shirts, not tucked in and leather jacket? Wear it.
You like leather jackets, skinny jeans and sneakers? Wear it.
You like 40s pants and engineers and modern leather jackets? Wear it.
All that matters is that you wear it with confidence.
A word of caution, enter the forum at your own risk but read this thread before, so you know what you’re stepping into. You are warned: https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/the-tfl-effect.94299/Oh well... That's good, I don't own any engineers boot hahaha
That's cool, thanks! I'll have to figure out my style with leather jackets, though... It should be fun
Is that a lasso I’m spotting in your picture?I’m going to open myself for some heavy heat here with this but… I get the tuck thing but I live in Maine. Nobody here wears leather jackets so I’m going to go ahead and set the standard. Since I don’t have a fashion sense this is pretty much my look with any jacket I wear during the winter. These wool shirts are a lot to tuck. I have a FL. I wear the same way. I’ll post pics here when I have a chance. It’s a great piece. BTW I actually did intend to unzip for the pics but forgot.

No, wrong part of the country (to generalize). It’s a dog leash. It would be quite a fashion statement up here though. Is that a lasso I’m spotting in your picture?

It’s a Pendleton wool. Can be had on the used market for much less than new, obviously. It’s tough to tell what condition they’re in though.I like your shirt, looks like something that I'd wear
I think untucked shirts look best with jackets when they just barely stick out, an inch, maybe two max. Like on the pic above and many from @MrProper . But that requires a whole new level of coordination
