Fedora Pricing?

I saw a Stetson Fedora in a hat shop recently that sold for $135. I saw an almost identical hat in a local clothing store and it was only $35. (again it was a Stetson) The 2 hats were slightly different in make. The more expensive one was thinner but stiffer and not waterproof.

Is it normal for hats to have a huge variance in pricing like this?

Was the lesser priced one wool?

No I don't think it was wool. More of a nylon type of fabric. The expensive one was wool and a bit nicer made.

Chad, Pricing varies greatly. I can get fur felt fedoras wholesale starting at $17.50 on up to a few hundred dollars. Each has it's place in the market. The best thing to do is educate yourself on the differences and if possible find a hat store you can trust.
