Fall Hats....

when do vendors start stocking the new hats for fall/winter? or are hat styles so perennial and classic that new styles or lines come along infrequently. the reason i ask is that "paul frederick" from whom i buy business wear ...suits,shirts,ties, etc. .....just send catalogue with new things for fall.

I'll try to answer this without sounding like an advertisement. We do most of our buying for the fall/winter season in early spring. Delivery varies but usually starts with a June delivery from Hatco. Both Besdor and I (and anybody who stocks Hatco) do this because we get good terms to take delivery this early. We keep a certain amount of winter stock year round because we're in a tourist destination and some people may not be back for a year so they'll buy a hat they like regardless of the season. We start taking regular deliveries in mid-August starting with a partial Kangol order then it's almost non-stop deliveries with Harris Tweed showing up around 9/1. Our true winter items like Mad Bombers arrive around 10/1.

Aaron is right about orders for the fall. We stock everything that you see on our site all year long and are receiving our fall stock as we speak . The winter items (furs) will be in stock in Oct (altough people are asking for them in mail order already!!).
