Experience with “Noble House”

My brother and I pitched in to buy my dad a jacket for Christmas. We found a store called Noble House in southern Germany with a design we liked.
When the package arrived, it looked like this. Wetness had gotten through and damaged the paper documents and the jacket smelled bad.

My dad normally wears a 46 and we ordered the equivalent, but it still fit quite large. I emailed them asking about an exchange but they didn’t respond.
It was shipped by DHL then in the US it was UPS. I assume it was damaged by DHL because I’ve never received a damaged package from UPS.
You’d think they would at least respond to an email that had attached images showing the box damage. Of course there’s no return policy on their site.
I just wanted to catalogue this so people in the future understand not to expect any customer service from them.

Noble House should have insurance on the shipment, and DHL's insurance owes you a new jacket. I've never had a problem with DHL before, but obviously every carrier has losses and offers insurance protection against it. Getting satisfaction on a claim may take a little effort, but it's good you have photos. Usually they enclose merchandise in plastic to prevent water damage like this, it's too bad if they didn't in this case or if it failed to protect the jacket. It looks like they left it soaking in rain for a long time!

Hmmm, taking a look at their site they do have a return policy. Anything else would have been astonishing because they are obligated to have one by law. This is valid in Germany and EU, think for Orders outside EU are not that regulated.
Here you could withdraw from the contract and get your money completely back within two weeks after receiving the delivery using this form.

Just having looked very briefly, their reputation appears not to be the worst.

A reason why you might not yet get a reply on your mail might be that many dealers and shops are closed down during this week over here.

Do not misunderstand me, I haven’t had anything to do with them so far. Ordering from an other continent can go real bad, similar directly from China...

For less risk it might make sense to order via amazon global next time, they’re available on that platform.

Hope that’s just been bad luck and that everything will turn to the best!

My experience with DHL was pretty horrible. DHL lost two of my aero jackets, received a bunch of furniture instead.

My orders from aero arrived within two working days latest by DHL, some even next day, in perfect condition.

I've seen that. The right of withdrawal is not a return policy, it's for cancelling your order.
However I didn't even ask for a return, just an exchange.

...

That means exactly the same here. You’d have to withdraw from your order, send the item back, get a refund and could re-order again, for sure from outside EU.

Okay, well I sent them an email saying I'm withdrawing from my order and gave them my order #.
I'm really not expecting a good response considering I emailed them 5 days ago and didn't hear back.

It basically depends on the people working in your area and the delivery guy in particular at the end.

I've never had any problem with DHL either except when last month a package containing a pair of handmade Vass shoes bought on Ebay was "stolen" from the delivery van the same day it was on delivery... I got my money back but I wanted the shoes. The Ebay seller almost accused me of lying because DHL didn't want to contact him or me saying that it was stolen or lost. I got my money from Ebay after a while and the seller still had to fight with DHL(Not my problem but I hope it got fixed)

Looking through past forum threads on this company, they seem to have a bad reputation for returns. Straight up ignoring return request (which has also been your experience, it seems) and then refusing to issue refunds. Two threads that show this most clearly:

https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/noble-house-bf-109-jagdflieger-messerschmitt-review.65614/

https://www.thefedoralounge.com/thr...lm-germany-stay-away-people-scam-alert.79557/

These aren't recent posts, so maybe things have changed. If you bought with paypal or a credit card, however, you might want to expect having to open a chargeback case or something along those lines. Sorry things did not work out.

I bought with PayPal and filed a dispute via them. I've also filed a Damaged Package claim with UPS.

That’s one of the downsides ordering worldwide.

As long as everything goes well it’s OK but can easily become a pain in the a.. when not.

In doubt such companies try to sit things out, hoping the customer from somewhere around the globe will give up sooner or later.

Hope things will turn to the best for you.

Hmm...they got back to my 2nd email promptly and sent me a return label.
So ultimately I would say this is UPS's fault and not Noble House's. But I wonder why they didn't respond to the first email? Both were sent to the exact same address.

Hope maybe because it's the holidays that why they haven't responded? Hope your dispute gets resolved soon, that's unfortunate that it happened.

I would say because folks don’t work 24/7 here and for sure not during Christmas - New Year’s Eve at this end. Many only run an emergency crew, if not shutting down completely for a week or two, especially these days...

If you ever get a parcel like this just dont accept it when they deliver. They will send it back and you wont have any trouble.

Agreed, but I live in a large apartment building and packages are left in the mail room.

I bought one of their Jagdflieger jackets in horse several years ago. After a few weeks, the main zip failed. Got back onto them and I had a new jacket in a week or so and they paid for the return. Their boss was quite entertaining on email as well!

Not the best leather jacket I own but pretty good for what I paid, as a warmer weather jacket.

I would agree that they probably haven't answered yet as it was the Christmas/New Year period and that it is certainly a problem with the delivery people rather than Noble House.

I have one of their "battle of britain" jackets and I'm satisfied with it. I know it's a lower quality jacket compared to an Aero/Eastman/etc, but for what I paid, it certainly does the trick. It looks quite nice and it seems solidly built so far. It's probably wildly historically inaccurate, but I'm not a time-traveler, so no biggie there. Sorry your experience with NH wasn't great, though. I hope they resolve everything quickly now that the holidays are over.
