I just caught "All the King's Men" and there are some nice suits in it, but I wondered why they bothered remaking such a cliched melodrama when the real story of Huey Long is so much more fascinating, surely enough years have gone by for a biopic to be done on him?

John Goodman was in "The Kingfish", a made for TV bio-pic a few years back. Its worth a look, but you're right- the real Huey Long was certainly large and complex enough to warrant a proper treatment.

Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding!
The new version of "All The Kings Men" had very little to reccomend it- I kept thinking "Man, they must have spent a lot of money on this, but , where did it go?" Plus, the cars and clothes made it look more 1950's- didn't Sean Penn get the memo about the story being set during the Depression? Guess not......

This makes me sad. I put it on my Netflix list because All the Kings Men is in my top 5 favorite books of all time. It figures...they can never do a book to movie right.
