This came in the mail today. I must admit that, for the last couple of weeks, I have felt like a 6 year old waiting for Christmas. Esther and I have been working on this for several months. Kind of a hard set of colors to deal with and not go over the top. I asked Esther to help me with this because I knew she is a bit of a perfectionist and would not let me do something stupid.

My wife and I think it's awesome. In case you were wondering the plan was to give a nod to the USMC and particular the dress blue uniform. I always felt a little taller when I wore my uniform and I can already tell this fedora gives me the same feeling. When I started this I was thinking it would be a fedora I could only wear once a year on the USMC birthday. Esther, however, was determined to design something that would be more than dressy enough for a Marine Corps Ball and yet be subtle enough to wear pretty much anywhere. In the Marines their is a one word sentence that is used to express complete satisfaction and greatness.

OUT---STANDING!

I'm glad it arrived today, you sure had to wait long enough. ;)

I'm so glad you are satisfied with the finished hat!

I'm very happy with how the combination turned out and also happy that you can wear it into your day to day life.

I hope you enjoy your new hat and those are some really nice pictures you took! Thank you for those.

Thanks. The "chevron gills" are striking. The problem I was having was using the red. It's such a hard contrast. But we could not see a fedora without the red. Esther came up with what I think is the perfect solution.

Red and blue will never go over the top and Esthers ribbon work as a milllener will rise to any challenge.

I'm so glad you are happy Bill. Several iterations of this hat happened, as you know. For what it is, I think it turned out very well. Enjoy it in health my friend!
