Yesterday at Border's, I bought a copy of Esquires special 75th anniversary edition. A limited number of copies were printed using apparently new technology called "electronic ink" (e-ink). The image on the cover appears to be animated, and parts of it flash as though it were an electronic billboard. An advertisement inside the cover also flashes. Very neat! And it's just $5.99.
The cover will last about 90 days before the tiny battery poops out, but this can be extended at lower temps, so mine is in the freezer for the moment.
Esquire e-ink cover anniversary issue.
