I think ELC could be on to something with this jacket. Love the grainy leather and hookless zipper. I think they have a winner here.

Yes, its a very nice jacket. The new war horse grainy leather looks authentic from the pictures on the site. The knits look thicker than many on ELC A2s. The spec label appears to be the main weak feature of the Werber, in that the style of lettering is too thick and digital looking! Apart from that, a real stunner which will sell well!:)

Hmmm, I may be giving them a call myself. I've always had a mild interest in getting a top line repro of an early contract jacket. However, ShanghaiJack, unless you live in the UK you'll have to call their American distributor, History Preservation Associates. It's always been my understanding that Eastman will not deal with US customers directly.

If we order now, we may get them just in time to stash them in the closet until next Fall. Just ask Scotrace! lol

Cheers!

I,too, like the looks of it. Seems they replicated the Werber throat hook where RMNZ failed to do so. I'm still uneasy about ELCs once loosely woven knit..and somewhat thin lining. However,I've heard they may have improved both faults. I'm also reluctant because of so many war stories about HPA. If EastMan doesn't get the fit right...can the jacket be exchanged?

If I get one of these, I'm going to start with whatever standard size they recommend based on my chest measurement and height and adjust up or down from there. The jacket should be easily exchangeable as long as one keeps it simple.

I think most of us outsmart ourselves more times than not trying for "The Fit." Especially when we're attempting to recreate with 40+ year old bodies what looked great on a rail thin 20 year old in an old photo.

Cheers!

Having owned all of the Eastman jackets (Roughwear 1401,27752, Cable, Star, and Monarch) I took a 42 in all of these jackets and they fit well. I would be willing to bet I would take a 42 in the Werber also. Check out the Acme Depot for some measurements on Eastman jackets. You can find it under the link on the repro eval area.

All my Eastman's have been 42 custom, Um gonna try a 44R in this one!

Congrats! Being in the U.S., did you deal through HPA, and what's the expected delivery time?

Cheers!

ETA is unknown at this time as they are still in the very early stages of production waiting on patterns for different sizes and such, in fact.... they didn't even take the order but placed me on a call list!
