I bought this jacket late last year from a American man who had got it from his father as a birthday present. He never wore it for the 20 years he had it.
This jacket is a very early one made from the amazing Merino sheepskin that it just the best you can get. It's the material used by The Few for their very expensive shearlings. Don't be put off by rumours of fragility. Eastman no longer use it because it's too expensive and because they fell out with the tannery that used to supply them. I was told this personally by the owner of the company. As a result jackets like this will never be made again.
This jacket is the best I have ever seen, better than the one I bought for last week. It has dense curled honey wool with a slight shine and a gloss chestnut outer coating.
Labelled a size 40 it is size 42 in dimension and is exactly the same size as a 42 in my possession.
I would never sell this only for the fact that it is slightly too small for me, but only slightly. If you take a 42 it will be perfect. I could easily afford to keep it, but that seems greedy.
There is no wear any where apart from some slight small flakes on the front panel. It is box fresh.
I am asking what I paid for it £500 plus all costs.
Pit to pit 23 in.
shoulder to cuff 25 inches,
collar to waist 24 inches
