I could not wait till it arrived, so here is a 'preview' of my Ecuadorian Supernatural Panama that I won yesterday.

After seeing Dinermans , Adam Pana-Brisa ,I was on the lookout for one like it. I think I did well.
I also think it was a bargain, at less than a new Logan hat from Miller Brothers.
More pics to follow when it arrives!

Great find.

Way to go, RBH. Looking forward to seeing more pics of that Panama!!!!!
A little cold right now, though. It is going to be 7 degrees here tonight:eek:

W O W !!!

It arrived today. And its great! This is the first vintage straw I have owned, and it is so light, it will be a pleasure to wear this summer. It is just as advertised, the box is marked 7 1\8 but the seller added that the hat was 7 1\2. I hoped that it was right , it was. The fit is great, the only thing is I shall have to find the water kettle to steam the brim shape back, either that or leave the brim down all the way around. I dont mind that on a a summer straw. I would love to know the age of this straw, from the box I would think late 40's, maybe someone here has a better idea. The only other thing beside the trademark stamped on the sweat is this tag "Caps & Millnery Wkrs Union"
I hope to post a couple of pics with it on my head later tonight.

I'm lucky I get to wear Panama's about 10 months a year. Your new/vintage hat looks very nice.:eusa_clap

Thanks Sharpetoys, you are lucky.
I love a good straw.
Can you tell me if a 'light' steam to the brim will be alright?
I sure would hate to mess this great hat up. It looks as if after years in the box the hat shifted and the brim is a-kilter. This hat is not soft , it has some stiffner in it.
Thanks for helping!!

Thanks so much Sharpetoys!

The steaming fixed it right up, it seemed to 'tighten' up some after the steaming. I think to get what I want will take a few more times.
That is what I love about this place, a lot of folks with knowledge, and they dont mind sharing it!!!
Here are a few pics after the steaming. I did not get any before, but the right side of the brim was bent way up to the crown...

I, too, have steamed my Panamas for shaping purposes. The steam tends to tighten up the hat, but the hat relaxes pretty quickly once you wear it. Never had any problems doing this.
