I bought one of my best hats from him, a Stetson 100, which he put "on sale" for one half the original asking price. It was a lot to pay, but for me that particular hat was worth the price. I find most of his prices beyond unrealistic given the current market value of most of the hats he posts for sale. I also know that the sale prices shown for his hats in the completed listings on Ebay can be higher than the actual sale price of the hat, further falsely skewing the prices upward.
I know the hat I bought from him showed twice what I paid as the sale price in the completed listing ... It did say best offer accepted though

Ebay has a vested interest in making us believe things sell for very high prices. In a way Ebay and Tim are colluding, although I'm not accusing him of anything nefarious. It reminds me a little bit of Damien Hirst, the British artist who bought back some of his work from the aggressive art collector Charles Saatchi for a lot more than what he sold it to him for just to prove that his prices were going up. It benefitted both him and Saatchi.

Maybe he's just goofin on everyone...?

Hence my Andy Kaufman comment[emoji4]
Like when he sat at the huge desk when he had his talk show .... Or when he would stand there and say nothing for twenty minutes staring at the audience.
If Tim is Andy I must be Classy Freddie Blassie

Tim may be Tony Clifton-ing the hat buying public.... or he's just a jackass

A pretty coarse 2016 Cuenca with a tacky Borsa-logo on the knot would set me back almost the same amount here in Copenhagen.

Compared to that, the Homburg is nothing less than a giveaway! :)

Joao, I'd have to see the hat but if it's legit from the 1930's & from Oklahoma it is worth every bit of that price. That was late in the era of the Miller Bros Ranch 101 & their Wild West show. The price is being driven by the nastalgia of the era; not by the big brim & tall crown. It's not just another Stagecoach.

That's just going to be the way it is on those kinds of hats. I hope the buyer is in Oklahoma.

Yes it's not a Stagecoach but I don't see how to verify if it is legit or not.
I wanted it to reblock and put a sweatband to wear it.

United Hatters of North America union label dates it as 1934 or earlier.
