I had the highest bid on this and the guy still wants more. Ah eBay Sellers. They always think they can get more.

That hat may not be a bad deal if the bidding stays low, you never know it may have some very nice potential! But if the bidding started to go high, I would not risk it unless you know something about that hat to make it worth the cost! I was thinking however, just on the factor it states it is a reject hat on the inside of the hat! Perhaps that by itself is rare? I have never seen any like that, anyone else ever see something like that????

I have been peeking at that one myself, the color is sure nice and it seems to be in good condition, but, who ever that seller is seems to want to squeeze oil from a rock. I have a hard time with the prices they go after. But they do find buyers for the hats being sold at "heavenly high" prices. P.T. Barnum had a famous quote about that...."sucker born every day"....something along those lines? I guess if someone wanted that hat really badly to pay four of five hundred bucks would be a bargain for that person, but not gonna happen in my household.

There are 2 bids on it. There must be someone interested other than me. I haven't bidded yet.

We'll see if it suits! [huh] No thin ribbon, may be too radical a departure. :eeek:
What size it that cap? If you decide you don't want to keep it, perhaps you can allow me to adopt it? I have one nice cap from Randall, and have to admit two "ball caps". Now before you beat me up over the ball caps, one is US Navy related to my direct service to my Country, and the other is a pure white leather made from bullhide that my late father purchased for me about 14 years ago.

Caps are very nifty. If I obtain my Brit bicycle to go along with the one I have now, I will be in seventh heaven.....

Well you know what to do....wait until the last few moments and make a bid for about $8.00 more than what is there now, last seconds and hit the confirm a bid deal, as long as it stays as low as it is now. I figure for myself if that hat fit me and was selling for less than a total of say, $50.00 how could I be going wrong? Such a low price would give me room to have someone more professional that I will ever be, to do something to it, if it needs some emergency surgery done to it!

Oh yeah, I forgot to say this also, you know many of us that post new hats and finds from Ebay here, at times do take a risk and find we got snookered, but I think if I am correct, more than not, the hat becomes a treasured find that no one could ever guess! I think when I see everyone posting the hats they find and buy, I am just a mess as I want to own all of them....can't own them all, but darn and drats, I sure have some serious wishful thinking!

Stetson leghorn straw c.1940... one of my favorite hats and an employee store factory reject.
