Hi All

Anyone familiar with the maker on this hat being sold on ebay? THROUGHBREED/PEDIGREE?

Sorry my photobucket is down, here is the item number. 217090751538

Surely not a hat for formal dress but looks interesting for a daily beater upper.

Any guess to the age?

TIA

Best regards
CCJ

We encourage posting links instead of item numbers for convenience.
Like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271090751538

And you don't need photobucket to post images, you can just copy the image location and wrap it in IMG code.

although if it's a really good item it's worth saving the image and hosting it in your own photobucket account, otherwise we get lots of threads with empty images once the original seller removes them.

THROUGHBRED was a brand made by Harris-Polk Hat Co., of St. Louis, Mo.
Harris-Polk had other brands as well including WORTH Hats; not to be confused
with Worth & Worth. Harris-Polk also acquired SLOAN Hat Co. some time before
1920. In 1939 Harris-Polk Hat Co. became Harris Langenberg Hat Co.
Try using Google to look up the old trade magazine called The American Hatter.
They have some very nice advertising . Here is a link, hope this works.
