Eastman's Imperial German WWI Aviator's Coat is another fine garment that sells well and fits many occasions (casual or dress), having classic lines and again being neutral in appearance, leaving no telltale signs that you've just stepped out the cockpit.
It’s constructed from Eastman’s WarHorse horsehide, which is aniline dyed and fully vegetable tanned by a top-quality tannery in Italy. The hides have a robust grain of deep rivulets and valleys that speak of immense character and which wear in wonderfully, yielding a vintage patina readily.
Some customers purchase these big enough to wear over their business suits, but most just want to wear it with a shirt or light sweater. The removable belt makes this style quite versatile, and I personally wear mine more without the belt than with it. I am also a big fan of the buttons, which look very authentic and really make this style such a head turner. The lining is the same delicious moleskin in blue as used on the Eastman Luftwaffe jacket.
So as to help put this jacket into some sort of fit perspective, it’s a size 40R. I'm doing the modeling and my body measures are as follows: 40" chest circumference, 30" waist, 5' 9" tall, 148 lbs. with a lean, athletic build.
Both sleeve and body lengths grade up by 0.5" as the jacket sizes increase, thus a 42R is 0.5" longer in these areas of measure than a 40R and so on ...
We have all sizes from 38-48 regular in stock.
