Firstly I posted this over at the VLJ Forum so apologies to those who frequent both for the double posting.

I am thinking of picking up one of Eastman's 27752 Contract A-2s and was hoping that some here might be able to share some insight into the fit, sizing and general info about this Eastman offering, and also hopefully post some pictures of theirs.

Senicko was very kind to post a photo of his in another thread but although there is quite a lot of material on other Eastman A-2 models here and at other places on the net, there doesn't seem to be a great deal about the 27752.

Hopefully someone can help and thanks in advance.

Where you're not.
I have another 27752 in rougher condition, needing cuff replacement and a little conditioning. I will get some shots taken later and post them for you. It's an older one, probably one of the first run as it's a low pocket number. Nice jacket, collar is asymmetrical which really doesn't appeal to me, aslo it's the stand type.

Smithy,

I had an ELC R/W 27752 until recently. It was a nice jacket (see pictures), the hide was fine and the details (e.g. NOS Talon) were good (I have had a few ELC jackets and have never had a problem with the knitwear) but I was never happy with the fit. I'm not saying that the cut of an ELC R/W isn't accurate to a WW2 R/W (although I have heard other people say that) but although it was my size it just didn't suit my shape, so I 'unloaded' it.

Thanks hugely for the photos H.Johnson, those are superb.

If you don't mind my asking, what's your "shape". I'm tallish and lean so interested to know what the fit might be like on me.

Beautiful jacket and a wonderful colour.

I'm 1.84 metres, 96cm chest, 76cm waist. 66 Kilogrammes. The jacket was a 38". A 36" may have been better for me, but there would still be the shape problem - the Eastman was too baggy around the waist and the armholes were too large. I have the same comments about Aero jackets. Originals tend to fit me better.

Thanks H.Johnson, that's useful. I'm 6'1'' and just a smidge over 40'' chest. Just got an email from Gary saying that a 42 Long should be the go for me. My Irvin from them is a 42 extra long which is perfect.

Thanks Steve for the link. I did a search here for 27752 but that thread didn't come up when I tried, goodness knows why. Is this one the same as the one you posted in my "A-2 Recognition" thread?

The more I see of these 27752s the more I'm sold on them. I really like the combination of that umber, chocolatey hide, olive drab thread, rust lining and brown knits. I also love ELC's warhorse hides that they are using, so this might be a done deal!

Also, what's sizing on these like, on the small side, big side, just right?
