Early 50s Cavanagh Fedora

Early 50s olive brown Cavanagh fedora in very good condition. It is a small hat size 6 7/8 which is why I'm selling it at such a low price. It originally had a burnt orange colored ribbon which I removed because it was in very poor condition and beyond saving. The color combination did look very nice though. There are some light water marks in the liner and that's about it. All it really needs is a new ribbon and a small enough head to put it on. There is no mothing or odors and the felt is in great shape. It has a 2 1/2" brim with Cavanagh Edge and a 5 5/8" crown depth. The original $30.00 price tag is still attached to the back of the sweatband. A $30.00 in the early 50s would have been a fairly high end hat. $99.00 shipped.

I am interested in that one but the price is far too ambitious, Purplesage. There also seemed to be an error in the listing - listed as long oval when the tag says "REG" under the oval tab. This missing ribbon is also going to knock the price down.

Yes that was my error in indicating it was a long oval. I should have caught that. $75.00 shipped and it's yours. It shouldn't cost that much to put on a new ribbon. A vintage Cavanagh Ribbon would be nice if you could find one. I has a photo of it with the old ribbon but I can't find it. I did save the old ribbon but I have no idea where it is at. I can't go any lower than $75.00 because I'm not even breaking even with that.
