This is probably a little early for most on this site. What interests me is the waistband on the trousers: Cinch-strap and upside down pocket flap are things I have seen before (regular faetures on continental suits?) and I am used to seeing a waistband rising in the rear, however, in this case, it appears to rise at the front. Is that a feature others are familiar with?

If not, i wondered if the rising waistband was designed to help conceal a large belly, after all the jacket has a 38 inch chest and a 37 inch waist - which is not much of a difference.

The trousers have a 33inch inside leg, which is rather unusual for vintage suits.

The trousers are cut for a corpulent figure. The front of the waistband rises up like that to give extra room for the belly, to conceal it, and make the waistband run in a straight line across the front.

Thank you. I guessed it was something like that.
