So now I have a couple of old hats--a Lee and a Disney--whose sweatbands say they are treated with DuPont Aridex water repellent. When was that stuff used? Did it actually do anything for the hat? Did it do any harm? Was it kinda like an early version of ScotchGard?
And ... do the commonly used cleaning solvents (naptha, etc.) wash the Aridex out of the felt?
