Dress or a Suit?

Its interesting that only a suit can convey authority, but not a dress, because its too feminine.....hmmmm...

Is it not what you expect the person to be wearing.
If you when into your bank and the only cashier was a man wearing jeans and a tee shirt with his favourite heavy rock and on the front you would think " what this bank coning too"
but if he had a nice shirt and tie on you would not think twice about him or the bank and been professional looking.
The same would be true if in the same situation a lady was wearing very revealing low cut top and then a smart blouse.

If I see a lady wearing a nicely tailored trouser suite I do not thing that she is not trying to emulate a man of power or power dress or make a point but trying to take out of the equation the misconception that because she is wearing a flowers or frilly dress then she cannot do the job right.
It could be as simply been practical solution as she has to wait at a cold rail station or bus stop so trousers are better for her.
You do not know, first impression count OK but reading too much into them which is not their is a big mistake.

What about skirt suits could it be that these are worn to look professional and business like with a hint of femininity.
and then jackets over a dress you could put these down also to be professional looking but still wonting to be seen as a women.

You just do not know, but at the end of the day it should be all about the person within the clothes, as long as she is wearing what is appropriate style for the position be it trousers, skirt or dress more than what she is not wearing.
I would swap with you ladies any day for your choose of styles.
Well that's my view.
