Double-breasted suit with 4 buttons?

So, I ordered a used double-breasted suit from internet(Finnish site, you probably won't understand if I mention the name), because it was so cheap and in good condition according to the seller, who had a reputation as a good seller.

While looking at the picture of the suit, I noticed that it seems to have only 4 buttons. Usually they have 6, so is this a common thing? I've seen some blazers with only 4 buttons, but never actually suit jackets.

Can't give you any pictures as I can't find them anymore, but I will probably get the suit in a week or so.

Yes, it was fairly common, though it seems a bit less so since the preponderence of 1x6 suits in the '80s.

So, what era do you think the suit is from? Brand is Kestilä and I can't find any info about it on the internet, so I guess it's fairly old. Material is 100% wool.

Kestilä a Turku based company from 1911 to 1990. Ready made clothing company. In the beginning women sew in their own homes products. I'll post more when reach home. Wow, double breasted and notch lapel. I don't think I've ever seen that before.

Probably '80s. DB notch wasn't that uncommon then. Low buttoning stance makes me think that dating as well.

The suit arrived 3 days ago. I have been away from home for a couple days, so I had no time to take any pictures. I will be taking pictures today or tomorrow.

The suit in whole

The suit is made of 100% new clean wool and it has a herringbone pattern(tweed suit?).
Suit size is 50B in European. That would be 40B in American. B means that the suit is made for a thin person. I myself am not thin, but I find that it fits awesomely.
Color is navy blue.

Jacket

Double-breasted with notch lapel, 4 buttons with the bottom one fastening. Pockets on the front at both sides and one at the chest, all jetted pockets. There's 3 inside pockets.
The jacket is ventless.

Pants

Pants have pleats and are cuffed. Zipper closure(French fly). Waistband comes to my real waist, which is really nice.

On the contrary, I was watching a movie called Topper the other night that was filmed in the 30's, and I saw many four button's, all of which were only buttoned at the bottom.

Though many fashion "experts" have told me that notch lapel on a DB suit is a horrible fashion crime.

I just think notch lapel only makes it look less formal, but I never wanted it to be a formal suit, so it isn't a big deal at all.

Beppe Modenese wears 4 button DB suits all the time. I'm terrified to do it because, unlike Beppe, I'm not ready to embrace my gut just yet.
