Donegal Tweed or Similar in London UK

I've a new suit project in mind and am looking for advice. I'm thinking about a three button two piece in a lightweight and lightish grey colour tweed, maybe Donegal. The cut would be vintage 30s or 40s. The question is where can I get such a thing made in London UK, when I could not contemplate spending more than say £1000?

One thought I had was to source the material myself (can anyone suggest where from?), and to find a local tailor to make it (can anyone recommend one of those?).

I hope you can help me out.

Never used them, but I've read reviews from satisfied customers, FWIW:

George, Bespoke Tailor
143 Cleveland Street, London W1P 5PH, England.
(0)20 7388 6886

Not sure the current price, but a few years ago it was well under £1,000.

I would certainly support the use of George - very good reviews.

Hi Mark,

There's an Ebay store called British Fabrics that has a lot of tweeds. I've bought fabric from them on three occasions and it's high quality from Yorkshire and Scotland. from what I've seen here in Australia, the prices seem comparably quite reasonable.
