Dog tags & bomb tags

A few questions for everyone...

1. Does anybody know of a source of repro WWII notched tags in either monel or brass? Most of what I've found is simple aluminum and often uses a modern stamping machine (which looks different from the originals).

2. For AAF commissioned officers, shouldn't the ID number begin with the letter 'O' (not the letter 'T')? I thought the letter 'T' was to designate flight officers (i.e. warrant officers/NCOs).

3. Those lovely bomb tags that Paddy had produced...do they have anything printed on the reverse side? I'm getting a local shop to make a batch.

Thanks scotrace...that was one of the companies I looked at. They at least use the correct stamping machinery. Looks like they only use stainless steel for the tags. No brass or monel.

As for my other questions...anyone?!

It would sure seem that way Scotrace! I haven't yet contacted the company, but I will settle for the usual stainless variety if brass/monel cannot be found. Still doing my homework on the correct ID numbers for commissioned AAF officers. I suppose I will PM Paddy regarding the bomb tags.

Bomb Tags.

Just caught this thread. Mike, if you contact Aero Leather in Scotland (the guys who make the flight jackets), they are now producing Bomb Tags as per the spec you are after.
