Does Cordovan bleeding ever stop?

I have a fantastic Aero Long Half Belt in cordovan which bleeds like a stuck pig (I exaggerate, but it colours the edges of bag straps, across-the-body bags where they rub, shirt collars even when it's not a hot day and the tops of pockets on beige or grey slacks).

I love the jacket and would not want to part with it, but will the 'transfer' die down? I have not treated the jacket with anything, have not chucked it in the washing machine, have not plunged a spear into it, etc. I have black and brown aeros, and none has this problem. It's a pity, because the cordovan
one is getting easily the most wear.

Any advice?

How old is it? The general consensus used to be that there was a rogue batch or batches a few years ago, but not since.

I've owned maybe 4 or 5 cordovan jackets since 2012 without bleeding.

It's about 4 months old.

I wouldn't send it back- the inner label warns that transfer may occur- but I'm wondering if there are any remedies.

My tumbled cordovan premier fit Bootlegger arrived yesterday and I was curious about this as well so I attacked it with an old white T-shirt. To be honest I didn't really get significantly much more "bleeding" off it than I did my brown FQHH jackets. I did get a bit but I had to press down pretty hard and rub it pretty quickly to get it.

Maybe the vintage (or tumbling) process on mine makes it bleed less than the standard cordovan FQHH?

I may do so- I have reddish outlines on bags, pocket corners, etc. I could just wear dark colours with it, but it would be nice to wear lighter-coloured stuff occasionally.

On a related note, my Accord has leather seats ... LIGHT TAN leather seats ... and there's a combination of brown, cherry and mainly cordovan on the back where my back reclines. Not much, but enough to be noticeable. Anyone know how I can remove this dye?

I've had a couple of Aero Cordovan jackets and a few Alexanders Burgundy jackets and not had very much o note ... a little on the collar of a white shirt or two after a few long and sweaty journeys on the London tube and a tiny bit of bleed through after a torrential downpour with my Cordovan Aero 50's H/B.

Never had it mark seats or the straps of bags ( but then I only have one brown leather bag with a strap and it's quite dark so I wouldn't notice)

Yup, that seems to be the consensus. Anyone had one that stopped transferring?

Try wiping it down several times with Bick-4 it will cause the "bleeding" to transfer to the polishing cloths and the leather will also soften.

I just did it to a new Aero Thunder bay, in black, it took several coats and wipe downs and it stopped. Softened the leather a great deal also.
