I do hope this is the appropriate thread to post in,as it said outerwear.

I am looking to have a beautiful coat made for me,full length 1940's in style, leopard print ( but not fake fur more of a hide type looking material) very classic looking ,fitted, but the type of coat Zsa`Zsa Gabor would be happy to be seen in.

Either that or does anyone know an online shop which caters for this type of thing?

many thanks

xoxo

Not much help here, but..... I'd start by scouring repro clothing places for rockabilly / psychobilly types, usually plenty of leopard print on the go round there. If you're gonig to a tailor, it might be worth picking up a pattern for a coat in the cut you'd like - not that they should need it, but it might be easier to use one to explain to them the sort of thing you're after if, like me, you find it sometimes a little hard to get to grips with the jargon or to explain properly the style of thing you're after.

Oh.... just a thought, on the Teddy Boy thread Salv recommended Colin Taub in Hackney for Ted tailoring. According to the website, he does ladies' stuff too, might be worth checking out?

Oh.... and welcome to the Lounge. :)

Thank you

Thank you very much!! I had not thought of rockabilly ect... as I'm more a vintage gal,but that makes perfect sense!!I shall check out that link also.
I have search high and low for a pattern, all I ever find are photos for referance but never a pattern,I'm hard to please lol.

I feel very welcomed, thank you,I was on FL under my last stage name, but never contributed much,I plan to do so more often.

No problem. I think any decent tailor sould be able to work from a photo as well - again, it's the visual reference that's important. :) Make sure you post photos here when you've had it done! ;)
