Does Aero Leather B3 run large?

Do Aero Leather jackets run large? My chest measures 42 inches. There is a used Aero B3 sized 40 for sale that has a pit to pit of 24", would that fit? Eastman B3s sized 42 measure 24" pit to pit, why are the sizes different but have the same measurement? Are Aero B3 extra fluffly that there is less internal room or something?

Different companies will label sizes differently. I have jackets in my wardrobe from a size 42 up to a 48; some of them even different sizes from the same company across different models. Go by actual measurements which you know will fit, not size number. IMO, you're always better with a bit more room in a B3 to allow for a sweater and such in dead of Winter. I'd find one of limited use if I couldn't fit a thick sweater over a shirt under it. YMMV.

Couldn't agree more. Barring ANJ-4s, sheepskin jackets look better a bit looser and over-sized - Irvins in particular.
10000% agree, and if loose , larger and not snug, they look more like in WW2.
Many photos documenting loose fits for shearling jackets.
