TT, did you see how much the velvet collared, plum-checked one was priced at before it sold ?

No, I missed it. I check the site almost daily (though there is never anything to fit me that I need/want) so I think that when he posted the jacket it must have sold almost immediately. But I'm not surprised, it is a genuine beauty - not that I would have worn it, a velvet collared four-buttoned jacket is a little 'fast' for my tastes.

Have you seen the 1930s motoring coat that he is selling?

I think it is wonderful. In the film 'Once a Jolly Swagman' (in which Dirk Bogarde wears the curious raglan/normal sleeve combination) Bonar Colleano wears an almost identical coat.

'Savvy Row' did originally price it at £325. I thought it would sell immediately. It is now reduced to £200. I'm amazed no one has grabbed it yet.

I'd like to know too!

I checked with Paul at 'Savvy Row'. The jacket with the plum coloured velvet collar sold for £159, which I think is a very good price to pay for such a rare and distinctive jacket.

Unfortunately, those two jackets (the second one sold for £115) are the only ones he had from that source. As he put it to me: "Now if only I could get them in all sizes!"
