I hate to be the bearer of bad news , but for those of you who actually want to see a new Indiana Jones film (and presumably for more than the unintentional comedy of a doddering Harrison Ford "running" and "jumping"), the news goes from bad to worse. First, Lucas wanted Sean Connery back... and now the news is that David Koepp, yes, David worstscreenwriterinthehistoryofthewrittenword Koepp is working on the almost completed script.
Somethings are best left where they are, I believe. I loved Raiders, that was a near perfect film... the other two, um, well, not so much. If I was a fan, though, if I was lookign forward to Indy 4 (or Indy $), I'd be pretty unhappy about this hack Koepp getting his hands on the property. He's proven many times that he has no gift with sensible plotting or character and has turned in material that went on to become wholly mediocre on more than one occasion When he is succesful, it's because the SFX department have done the work for him.
So, I like Indy, but I hate Koepp. If I cared more I'd start a campaign.
