Wow, that's one sharp hat but egads! that size wouldn't fit me in a million years.

So the answer is no, I did not win that hat, although I sure wish I could have bid on it!

I know, I'm sick over losing out on it....it only went for $26 and change. :rage:

Ummm... that would have been me.

I can't wear it, either. I bought it for my daughter-in-law's grandfather, along with the two straw hats I posted about last week. Tell ya what--if it turns out I've guessed wrong about his size, I'll sell it to you for what it cost me plus the shipping cost. How's that?

Cheers,
Tom

That username is familiar. I believe he may 'fess up shortly. (Edit: He owned up fast!)

Perhaps I've asked this before, but have you considered esnipe.com?

Will do, Bolthead! It'd be great passing it to someone who'll appreciate it if Paul can't wear it.

I've been trying to pay for it, but PayPal seems to be having issues this afternoon. :rage:

Still interested, Bolthead?

My wife and I paid a visit to our son and daughter-in-law today, and got see Paul. I had brought with me the two Dobbs straw hats (all I could carry--we were on the Beemer) to see how they fit. The straws were 6 7/8s, as is the Knox Forty. The verdict: way too big! :eusa_doh: I did try stuffing the sweat band with paper towels, but that still wasn't enough.

I'd brought a tape measure along, of course, and Paul's head measures to about 19 3/4" or so. According to a size chart, I'll need to find hats that are about a 6 1/4 or 6 3/8! This, I think, is going to be as much a challenge as is looking for the 7 5/8s and up hats.

So, if you're still interested, I'll sell it to you as promised. I'll also offer the Dobbs straws from the other thread, and this lovely Borsolino that came in today. The color in the eBay photos make the hat appear grey, but it's a lovely brown. I can take some photos tomorrow.

Cheers,
Tom

Wow- that's a tiny head. There's some stuff up on ebay in that size, but it's all either junk or cowboy hats. Nice Open Road up in a 6-5/8.
Smallest I have is 6-3/4, and I thought that was tiny.
