The lining is mostly the weakest part of a leather jacket. In my BK jacket there were three holes in it after 2 weeks.
I’ll go with the 15oz. Buffalo Plaid wool lining. Should be alright for longer than 2 weeks.
Should be alright for a couple years. But, seriously, the most durable lining I've ever seen is Langlitz's bullet-proof nylon. Really indestructable.

Well, i didn't specify the lining i wanted, since his website only mentioned black cotton drill, that's what i assumed i would get. I just trimmed all the loose ends so it looks alright right now, but it doesn't take long to fray again...

I seriously doubt this lining will last 10 years!
I actually specified the Sateen lining for my DD J-100. I believe it's the same sateen lining that Goodwear uses. I always found the cotton drill to be scratchy-( particularly the stuff that Aero uses.) And sateen works perfectly for this climate. No fraying yet...I'm crossing my fingers.

Three holes in two weeks = poor product. To me this kind of information just reinforces my belief that paying more for a product doesn't mean it is better quality.

Carlos, may I ask if your first and second jacket were too big or too tight? I mean in which way were the measurements off?

The first one was like a size to to small, and had 2" missing in the sleeves, measurements weren't even close to what i had asked for.

The second one is the one i reviewed in this thread.

Here is a pic of the first one:

the chest part where the pockets are, looked great there on the first one, everything else like it was made from someone else measurements...

Honestly, it was too small even in the chest, i could barely zip it up, and i couldn't close the top snap without choking myself.
It felt like a size 40 with a 42 tag.

Unfortunately, my experience is it takes a ton of trial and error to get the sizing right. And without ordering in the flesh, being able to try on in person, or be measured by the jacket maker/retailer in person, you're completely tied to the way you and the seller separately perform your measurements. And more often than not, inches get lost in translation and you end up with something you try to convince yourself that fits until you give in and end up reselling or if you're lucky work with the seller towards towards mutual resolution.

Not saying that's what happened in your case, and I always cringe when I hear about fit problems on MTO jackets such as yours (becuase I can empathize), but fit frustrations are clinical.

Try living on the other side of the planet! My Langlitz, and two aero have gone back, plus 2 pair of Wesco. My DD jacket fit me great. It happens to all makers. I think the way they handle it makes the big difference. All these guys were great, and looked after me. It's just frustrating with post cost and the extra 2-3 weeks turn around.

Haha, just went to put the rubbish out and muck around in the garage and had to have my Irvin on, it's 0 here at the mo and the Northern Lights are all over the sky. Just the place for shearling jackets. Although it won't be long and it'll be Canada Goose time ;)

Ouch!
It's currently only supposed to kick in if the item is over $1000 from what I understand?
Not only customs duty but also 10% GST and also customs brokerage fees if declared value over AU $1000. Below that blissfully nothing. I believe the government has shelved the reduction of customs duty threshold for the time being probably because they need to hire a lot more people and they hate doing that.

Current exchange rate Martin. Anything more than a DVD or a belt from any non Asian country is going to be over 1k these days! DHL sent me an invoice for well over 20%. That's all customs fees, clearance fees,DHL commission, GST etc etc.I've never experienced it before. I honestly thought it was a scam.I've bought lots of bike parts, books and jackets etc and had cruised for 4-5 years and never been pulled up. The worst thing was that jacket and leather bike jeans didn't fit, so another $200 posting it back. Makes a genuinely extravagent luxury purchase all the more luxurious on the old key card....
