Dialogue Making Me Crazy

Sometimes I write something that sounds too familiar and I think I'm ripping it off from a film or book. I've been turning this bit over in my mind for a few weeks now but I can't seem to place it. Does it sound familiar to anyone else?

A: That's odd.

B: Odd? Odd! Odd isn't even an excuse. It's just saying it's odd.

In my mind I hear John Cleese saying this. Was there a Python skit with this bit?

Regards,

Senator Jack

This is from the "burning streetcar" scene in reel 2 of Lights of Kuala Lumpur (First National Pictures 1934), right before Lyle Talbot is pitched headfirst into the barrel of jellied eels.

There are lots of veiled dialogues used as tributes to other works that the writers or directors sneak into things all the time. I've seen many oblique references to other movies that only the fans of thoses movies would get. They're just little hidden teasers it seems.
