I picked up an Akubra digger / slouch hat on eBay and it's marked "1/8" rather than "7 1/8." Does that indicate that it's an older hat?
The reason I ask is that I'm considering cutting the brim down by 1/2 an inch or so. This one looks WAY too wide on me; and brims that wide seem to get in my way, anyhow.
If this is indeed a vintage hat, then I'll forgo the scissors and pass it on to someone who'll enjoy it as it is.
