Denmark to cull Mink population

So apparently there is a coronavirus mutation that has spread from mink to some humans in Denmark. They have decided to cull some 15 million farmed mink. My hope here is that the fur can be salvaged and turned into some hat bodies as long as the virus doesn't come along with it.

Does pure mink felt well? I don’t recall seeing a pure mink felt hat. I supposed the mink added softness and a beaver base added superior felting.

I am not familiar with a pure mink hat body but I do know that they have blended with mink with beaver. My understanding is that mink needs to be blended otherwise it is very difficult to work as it felts tightly, at least that is what I have heard.

It's happening in Utah. In every case where covid-19 has infected animals (some 50 species now) it has come from humans, not the other way around.
