Iron Heart 533 Fleece Lined Type III. Jacket I never thought I'd own. Absolutely the most beautiful denim jacket I've ever seen. I mean, the thing weighs little over 2 kgs.

@Trenchfriend , it's actually very comfortable and more breathable than any trucker from any other brand that I've tried on. Hot as an oven when buttoned. You'd love it for during those cold German winter mornings. :)

@Dav , Lol, I think that's a typo. These go for a less than a hundred $. $150 would be pushing it. Man, I gotta get the IH Lee once they restock it.

Here is my Levi’s Trucker Jacket the family bought me on Father’s Day.

Johnny

So I am 6’-0” tall 185 pounds, 41” chest and my stomach (widest around my mid section) is a 40”
I got the large and it fits good. A little tight in the shoulders when I cross my arms but it’s not so tight it’s uncomfortable. The mid section is a good fit. Not baggy and tent like but not trim enough I can’t put my keys/knife/pen (EDC stuff) in my pockets.
The details I find odd. The collar came folded down. I am used to my denim jackets being buttoned all the way up like a dress shirt but you can see the collar is laying flat.
The only other detail I find lacking in the jacket is I thought there was as zig zag stitching up the front around the buttons. I guess that wasn’t a Levi’s thing.
I thought I had a Levi’s jackets when I was a kid but it was as probably a “Marks Work Wear house” brand.
My last summer jacket has been a green denim old Navy jacket. This one is a lot heavier material. It took a full day of wearing it before the shoulders relaxed and the sleeves dropped an extra inch. It’s now down to my first knuckle. The proper length of a jacket.
Looking forward to wearing it and breaking it in. I have a feeling it will last longer than the old navy one.
Anyone has any questions, just ask.
Johnny

I have been looking for a "vintage" 101J but having trouble finding something long enough as usual. Anyone have any opinions/experience with this new European Collection jacket?

The movie is fun to watch:

I have a 101J that I bought new maybe 3-4 years ago. It is a nice selvage denim jacket, but I never wear it anymore as it’s too long for my taste. It goes well beyond where my belt sits, which I think is too long for the style. Although I do wear higher rise pants, and they are clearly using a pattern that’s designed to go with modern low rise jeans. My size L has a back length of 65 cm/25.5 inches

Yep, this is it! :D Levi's stores offered these darker variants last winter in Europe, but they're really pricey here. Not far off from IH. Worth the $, though, especially nowadays. The quality has really gone up lately. They're back to using this much heavier denim that's made purely from cotton. None of that stretchy plastic abomination.

They were showing Chisum on TV earlier today and I noticed some of the actors wore 101J's. Only in brown. Probably canvas. But anyway, these jackets used to be really, really short... Long in the sleeves and really short in the body. Awesome jackets! They're around 25" in the back now. Tried a few recently at the store. I'd recommend the IH but they're keeping their versions true to the originals by keeping the back short. Though still not as short as the true vtg 101J.

I just got a type 3 made by Prison Blues. Very heavy denim. I'm pondering if it will shrink enough to size. Appears as if this will out last the Lee's and Levi's I've worn over the decades. I wear them quite a bit

I have been looking for a Lee like this, something a little lighter than my IH :) Can't seem to find one with long enough sleeves.
Jonesy,
Check out the IH101J. The sleeves are 27.8” and the 18oz denim has been washed once so it feels nice and soft right out of the box. I got mine last month and I’ve been wearing it every chance I get.

Price isn’t too bad here. Got it on sale at Hudson’s Bay Company. Regular pice it’s about $100 but got it for $67. I tried them on about four/five years ago at Sears and they felt cheap and didn’t fit right. Like they were made for skinny high school kids. So I will have to agree, they have gotten much better.

Hi Johnny,

This is a nice looking jacket. Can you please tell me if it's this model?
