Decades of style -Empire trousersI

I bought this pattern last month and am just about to start cutting a toile. Has anyone else made them and feel like commenting on the pattern and any difficulties etc? I plan to make two pairs in heavy linen, one navy pair and a brown pair. I do have enough denim, but I'm a bit worried that it's too heavy.
