Trevor Bolder, Bassist for Uriah Heep and David Bowie during his "Ziggy Stardust" days. 62 years old.
He was one of my influences as a young bassplayer.

'S.W.A.T.' Star Steve Forrest Dies at 87. He died May 18th. He was the younger brother of Dan Andrews. I remember him playing Robert Taylor's younger brother in 1954's Rogue Cop.

Bill Pertwee passed away yesterday at the age of 86, he was well know for his role as the ARP Warden in the British Sitcom, Dad's Army. I understand too that he did a lot of radio work & other TV and was in some films too including some of the "Carry Ons". Does any one know if he was related to the British TV & Film Actor Jon Pertwee?

Yes these were all great characters and great TV Programmes too. I still prefer watching the reruns on the digi-channels of these older programmes, hat the new stuff that is one now which does not seem to so good, maybe it's an age thing.

IMDB has him listed as the first cousin of Jon Pertwee.

Yes, it mentioned this on the BBC. I think his mother was Jons mothers sister? Is it only Ian Lavinder left from Dads Army now??

Yes he is still with us, as is the vicar Frank Williams. I am not sure if the actors who played smaller parts such as Private Sponge and the welsh newspaperman, Mr Cheeseman are still here now.

I know he was 92 and had a good innings, but it's still a shame to see him go! I've been watching Are You Being Served? and Last of the Summer Wine for over twenty years. My family's from Britain and watching britcoms goes back to the 70s for us, so for me it's part of my childhood dying.
Mr. Rumbold is the only major character left, Messrs Humphries, Granger, Lucas and Mrs. Slocombe and even young Miss Brahms all having left us, many of them far too early. Young Mr. Grace, too, of course, has gone to the department store in the sky!
