Dark double breasted suit

Here is another find I picked up last weekend.
The suit is not vintage but fit very well and I could not pass it up.
It is 100% wool and the color is dark navy or black with a barely noticable pinstripe running though it. I have just the gray hat to go with it.

Purchased for a pittance.

Sharp...You're lucky if you can wear 1-to-button DBs - I can't stand 'em myself. I had one converted to 2-to-button, with the result that the lapels always buckled slightly.

I understand the songwriter Hoagy Carmichael took credit for pioneering the 1-to-button style in the '30s. He was a very well dressed small man and felt most coats made him look shorter.

I am not a fan of the one button style. Certain suits tend to hang in an odd way on me. I made sure to try on the jacket and check the fit in a mirror before purchasing.
It does not look bad at all. Eventually I will get pictures of me in it!

Great looking suit. I have a couple og the 1 to button DB, but they seem to button below my belly and draw attention to that area, which I do not need nor desirelol lol lol . However I can think of a very nice light gray fedora you have that might go well with it .

fftopic: BTW.. How did your Dad like his Gruen? I hope he was pleased.

Yes it is a rust color pin stripe. The suit is due back from the cleaners today and I will get a picture of it in action.
