Ok, so I’ve been ‘working from home’ for 2 weeks now. So far so good.
We’re also in the final throws of our warmer weather here in Australia.
My Wife is also now working from home 100% of the time too...

I can see a potential issue here....

What am I supposed to do with the jackets that are, well... sort of ‘stored’ (a.k.a. hidden) throughout the home / garage when it gets cold enough to wear them...?

Normally, I’d be at home by myself throughout the day, but not for the foreseeable future.

Am I alone in this predicament?
What says the combined knowledge of The Lounge?

This is a serious issue.

Ahem... U're in hot soup lol.

1. Come clean, eat crow n sleep in the dog house for a month and end up having to reduce your collection somewhat.

2. Come clean-ish. Look honey I found my old jackets, I didn't know where they were that's why I got some more... Or whatever works lol.

3. Lie through your teeth... Not recommended rofl!

4. Not recommended too but secretly move them to a location she'll be unlikely to check.

Good luck n I meant it mate rofl!

Best to come clean, admit to everything - and I do mean everything - and stay safe. 'cause, the biggest issue is if it comes to worst, our SO's are gonna be selling all our gear for what we told them we bought it for.

And I don't want to see an entire Outerwear front page filled with posts like "OMG Check out this Real McCoy's J-24 I scored for $80!".

Seriously, though, if it really is a problem, tell her it's an investment and that the jackets will bring in good money once you decide to sell them. It's also the truth.
When I still was facing such problems, whenever she was complaining about me buying another whatever, I'd just show her my eBay selling page. Just the sight of the amount of money I was asking for the jackets would make her really happy.

It'll at least buy you some time! XD

Divorce rates are up anyway - don't add fuel/mink oil to the fire.

I don't have any definite solutions, but I can tell you what not to open with:

a) 'Every year that we were married I bought one of these jackets to reward myself for... no, hang on...'
b) 'Let's turn this round and talk about your collection of x,y, or z.'
c) 'You're right. Can I just keep two?'
d) 'At least these become more collectable as they age.'
e) 'Why do I never agree with you? Because then we'd both be wrong.'

These won't work.

The irony is that I hardly get sufficient opportunities to wear one jacket well.
I think there’s 7 currently hidden ahem, stored around home.

Having 7 jackets in of all places Oz is a bit much lol.

I was in WA for 2+ years and it was so mild I think I only needed or wanted to wear a sweater (definitely not a heavy jacket) for 2 months or less. I only ever wore a jacket when I was fishing for Samsons or Tuna.

You are worrying over something that will never happen. To women, all of these leather jackets look the same. They do notice differences in color, though. Also, my wife noticed the "fur" collar on my ThunderBay. She knew that was different from my other "brown jacket." So, all she knows is that I have two brown jackets and one black jacket. She has no idea I have 15 of them!

My modus when confronted...true for jackets and hats....."This? Had this one forever, just haven't worn it in a while....don't you remember it?"

So much truth to this, my wife is actively disinterested in my jackets! Plus, what's the chance of her knowing how many I have when at last count I had 13 when I thought I had 9!!!
