I ordered my Highwayman on March 31st, and just got it today.

....

J/K ;)

Figured I'd liven up the forum given that Summer is coming and we won't be able to wear our precious jackets until October ;(

In case anyone is curious....

The current wait at Lewis Leathers is two weeks.

It is obvious L&L makes superb product, no question about it, but they seem to be about 50% more than the price of Aero. That is possibly a reason, plus the weak economy, that might be shortening L&L's wait time.

Also, does L&L work in leather other than cowhide?

No, I don't believe they do.

Just curious, has anyone received an Aero recently?

If so, can you post the date that you ordered it (as in made the last of your "small" changes)?

Edit: Oops, I meant ordered AND received it, just to give the rest of us (patiently?) waiting Aero-heads a sense of how long it actually is taking. Mark M said 3-4 months, Will about 8 weeks...

Good evening Gents and Ladies...long time viewer, inaugural post; In response to your question Bob...I ordered a Highwayman from Mark on Dec. 9th/08. [final details ironed out] I suspected a fair wait due to current exchange rates and the expected Christmas rush. Hoping to hear something soon. @@@@ I must say, 'cheers up' for The Lounge Mgmt. and contributors. Enjoyable and informative place to tune into. Fabulous source material and links...really a big help. I look forward to contributing if I can...Thanks! J.

Johnnynotoes.. you're saying you still haven't received your Dec 9th order? Wait times back then were said to be only 8 weeks. I wonder if I'll actually get mine in the 8-12 I was told.

Oh, and welcome to the forum! I'm new here myself.

Man, now I'm bummed:mad:
Ordered my Highwayman March 1.
Maybe I'll have it for the Aug heat! :eusa_doh:
Lenny

PS: Do ya think it makes any difference if you order thru Mark Moye as opposed to directly from Aero?

i paid for my order on jan 2. i think i'm on week 13 or so now?

mine's a fairly mundane brown half-belt.

after waiting a year to order it, i'm really excited to get it. i *will* be wearing it, even if it's hot.

I dropped Amanda an e-mail a few days ago, as the coat should've been ready by now, and she said it would be another two weeks! :eusa_doh:

Yeah, I just got word to wait another month. I ordered mine around Jan 12th through Mark. From the way he sounds it is a really busy time for him and Aero. At least somebody is busy during this economic downturn.

Well, I'm glad they're staying busy, that means they'll stick around.

Agreed, and then some. All of us, even those who opt not to buy from Aero, have a strong vested interest in seeing them, along with the other quality leather jacket makers survive and thrive indefinitely into the future. Not just for the ability to make future purchases, but also for repairs, for instance.

For example, I have stated before some of the reasons I don't buy from LW, but I still very much want Stu to do well as the marketplace functions better with multiple, successful vendors who compete on price and feed ideas to each other (sometimes unwillingly  )

I try to talk up Aero with everyone I can and try to send them as much business as I can to help them, as bottom line, its really a referral business since its not as if you can just send someone to their "store" to check their product out.

But I must admit, the waiting for my Hwyman is killing me, though the wifey said I am less ornery than I was last year waiting for my Stockman. lol

Maybe I should just skip coming here for like 2 months, since I am only about 2-3 weeks into the process and it looks like I've got at least another 7 weeks :)eek:) to go based upon what several posters have listed as waiting times...

I was looking at the Aero website and noticed it no longer mentions free shipping to the US. Does anyone know if that is now the case?

I think they've stopped offering it given the exchange rate, but M Moye still does, even though his price appears to be roughly $50 more, which seems to be to cover the duties cost.

Update: I just noticed on Mark's ebay Aero store that the wait time is now 4-5 months

They're pushing it so far back my kids will be almost be grown up enough to wear it.
