Custom Vanson Chopper - Input Needed

Now that both a Medium and Large Chopper have passed through my hands, I'm biting the bullet and getting a custom one made up. The smaller medium waist is excellent but I just needed more room in the chest/shoulder. Any opinion on tweaks to make since Im paying the custom charge?

Thinking about the following specs: in either Black Comp or Black Zirconian

Contrasting stitching - just a slight contrast like dark grey / graphite. Something to show off the details but not screaming like bright white

Hardware - either all blacked out or Nickel zips with black studs.

This is mainly for actual riding, Triump Bonneville Black Edition. Going to ask if the Vanson "velcro armor" system can be added, but I doubt it since the Chopper has slimmer sleeves based on my experience

Maybe they can do one in the Horween HH?

Maybe a two-way zip.

They may push back about the armor but it can be done. Pricey. Perhaps have enough room for an armored shirt?

All else— it will be a killer jacket.

Someone on here has an amazing custom Chopper that I don't think can be outdone. But I would like to see you try.

JMax,
That is the ultimate freaking chopper as far as I’m concerned! I have been toying with the idea of getting one of these jackets for a while now and when I do I am going to copy your build sheet on that one shamelessly.

Going to try my best! But this one will be Black. Any thoughts on whether an all Blacked out Chopper (black hardware, quilt lining) would be too boring / not really show off the details?

Here it is with white stitching. This one is predistressed so it would pop a bit more under normal circumstances. Just to give you an idea. I would deal directly with Vanson and request the mods you want. It’s what I did with my Berserker/Chopper.

There it is!! That's the look Im after. Not sure about the different color sleeve gusset though. Kind of surprised how good the brass hardware looks on black w contrast thread. Figured it had to be silver or black. Decisions decisions

Yeah, the brass works. And like I said, the only thing I sometimes reconsider is not going with more contrast with the stitching. Honestly, it will be nearly impossible to get it wrong.

I love the way brass and black leather go together. I would recommend considering yellow/gold contrast stitching to compliment the brass hardware if you go that way.

Black goes with everything, really, but especially brass. You can also do silver/nickel/chrome if you want to.

Exactly what I was just about to say!

Black with brass hardware and gold stitching would look the absolute dog's tits imo. Sorry for the French.

So much so that I'm now going to root around in my bank accounts to see if I can scratch up enough to place an order. A Vanson is the actual nuts.

I definitely can't pull off the gold / yellow contrast stitch. Plus I think after a lot of bike use, yellow or gold will soon turn to brownish with road grime / leather conditioner etc. Maybe just partial contrast stitch in certain detail areas like shoulder/elbow pad areas and belt lines??

I'm all for the Stealth look, but I now agree that black zips do look a bit dull / cheap compared to metal.

If you don't think gold would work for you, but you're still considering a contrast stitch, then I'd recommend a burnt orange, maybe. One of my Langtlitz Columbia jackets has gold contrast stitching, and it does get dirty, but this helps tone it down and makes the effect subtle, which I find desirable.
