Cufflink?

I found the most awesome cufflinks sets from a very old man. One is a gorgeous set of Art Deco bar pin and cufflinks. My question is one of the cufflinks has the bar missing that would hold it inside. Can this be replaced by a jeweler?
Not sure if I can go where the men are since you all have to stay out of the powder room. Sorry if this is a no no.

Not at all...ladies are always welcome. :)

I believe that you can probably get this repaired by a competent jeweler...the trick may be finding a competent jeweler! I have had some success with similar repairs in the past, but it took me awhile to find someone who felt comfortable doing the work.

The best advice I can give you is to avoid the chain jewelry outlets and seek out a "mom and pop" jeweler that has been in business for a number of years under the same ownership. They have a tendency of being a bit more customer oriented in terms of custom work. Good luck!

Exactly. Not that difficult in large metro areas but can be problematic in the smaller burgs. Of course you may be able to ship the piece for repair.

Thanks so much for the info. I just love these little jewels called cufflinks. These have the most awesome blue stones in them.
I wonder if there is a book on cufflinks? I have quite a few cache and cannot figure out the difference in cost of them (except for sterling of course) and see them all over the boards in price.
I keep finding them it seems and keep resisting collecting them as I already collect so much but who knows as I keep picking up more of them. Does it help if one doesn't admit to oneself that they are collecting things? lol
I see alot of them are selling so I think they are getting hot. I wonder why they even went out of style. Was it like hats and/or because people didn't like buying one more thing or keeping up with them or what? They fascinate me. Really.
